MY FRIEND FLORA capsules are specifically designed to support your vaginal flora. They contain 5 selected strains of bacteria that have been scientifically proven to to effectively reduce the risk of E.Coli bacteria colonisation. 

For example, how they produce lactic acid effectively lowers the pH level in your vagina and bladder, creating a less desirable environment for E.coli bacteria. This then makes it harder for these bacteria to establish and multiply in both your vagina and bladder. At the same time, a healthy vaginal flora with lactobacilli and other "good" intestinal bacteria act like a protective shield and attach themselves to the mucous membranes in the vagina and bladder to avoid being flushed out. This creates a protective layer that leaves little or no chance for E. coli and other harmful bacteria to attach to the mucous membranes and settle there.

The lactic acid bacteria in our MY FRIEND FLORA capsules contain a powder mixture of 32 different fermented fruit and vegetable powders to give the probiotic strains a balanced nutrient basis for their growth. The calcium contained in the capsules also ensures that digestive enzymes can work better and thus provide the bacteria with more nutrients.

Additional pomegranate seed extract, with its high ellagic acid content, has also been shown in studies to inhibit the growth of staphylococcus aureus and Clostridium perfringens, which, along with E.coli bacteria, can also be the cause of bladder infections.

What you can do for a healthy vaginal flora

• Eat a balanced and varied diet. Try to include raw vegetables and fibre-rich foods in your daily diet, because probiotic bacteria feed mainly on fibre, which the body can hardly use itself and is therefore transported to the large intestine, where most of our intestinal bacteria have their home.

• If possible, do not use normal shower gels for your intimate area, as these are often very alkaline and can therefore increase the pH value in your vagina, which is not good for lactic acid bacteria.

• Take our MY FRIEND FLORA capsules regularly, because the build-up of healthy vaginal flora takes some time, especially because our capsules have to be taken orally and can therefore only enter your vagina and bladder indirectly.

• It is best to take our capsules on an empty stomach so that the probiotics are not exposed to harmful stomach acid for too long. We do have our probiotics in an enteric-coated capsule, but the capsule would remain in your stomach for several hours if you took it with a meal. 

• Reduce stress. Stress can trigger immune reactions in the mucous membranes that reduce the number of good gut bacteria.

Admittedly, it sounds a bit strange to take capsules by mouth to strengthen your vaginal flora, but essentially a large part of the bacteria in the vaginal flora comes from the intestines. The intestinal flora and the vaginal flora are therefore often very similar. The only difference is that due to the low pH value in a healthy vagina, often only bacteria with a high tolerance to an acidic environment survive and therefore often only "good" bacteria such as lactic acid bacteria can establish themselves there. This is a natural protective mechanism that shows why it is so important to pay attention to the vaginal pH value.
